Threat Type: Physical
Description
Water infrastructure is prone to any kind of physical threats either due to natural hazards (earthquakes, floods, etc.) or terrorist attacks or even due to an accident. The threat is a physical occurrence on the water supply system. By the physical type of threats, assets or technical devices of the water supply system will be damaged or manipulated. The physical threat may also destroy or damage sensors, data transmission lines or the process control/SCADA system in a way that the normal function is no longer possible.
